A Marin County man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing 73 guns from a gun store in Placer County.

The crime occurred about three hours early within the morning on July 22. Authorities allege that Tyrone Brennen, 39, of San Rafael, used an influence tool to achieve entry to Foothill Firearms in Newcastle and loaded the guns into duffel bags.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, Brennan left the shop and got right into a vehicle driven by Loren Ray Bingham, 41, of Vallejo.

Evidence that helped discover the suspects included video footage from a close-by store. Investigators executed warrants on Aug. 6 and arrested Brennan in San Rafael and Bingham in Vallejo. The suspects had weapons stolen from the shop, authorities said.

Investigators also arrested one other suspect at Bingham's apartment: Richard Edward Nosenzo, 57, of Vallejo. Detectives found evidence allegedly linking him to the break-in.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office said all three suspects are convicted felons and that Brennen “has a long history of commercial burglaries throughout the state by cutting holes in the side walls of businesses.”

Bingham is a gang member with outstanding arrest warrants in Solano County for drug and weapons offenses, authorities said in a press release in regards to the arrests.

“He has previous convictions for possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of stolen property and auto theft,” it said.

Nosenzo, in response to the agency, “was convicted of escaping from prison in 1995 and has three previous convictions for auto theft, possession/issuance of false checks, grand theft of a weapon, burglary and possession of stolen property.”

Brennen was arraigned in Roseville on Thursday on 20 charges, including burglary, grand theft and illegal possession of a firearm. He pleaded not guilty.

Brennen is being held without bail. His defense attorney couldn’t be reached for comment Monday.

Bingham and Nosenzo were tried on similar charges and pleaded not guilty.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 19. At this hearing, a judge will determine whether there may be sufficient evidence for a trial.

Agencies involved within the investigation included the San Rafael Police Department, the Novato Police Department, the Central Marin Police Authority and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

On Wednesday, Fremont police announced that each cars – a Porsche GT3 and a Porsche GT3 RS price a combined total of greater than $500,000 – had been recovered and a suspect was in custody.

The theft occurred around 12:45 a.m. April 4 at a automotive dealership within the 5000 block of Cushing Parkway.

The officers determined the direction of travel of the cars and just a few hours later investigators found the Porsche GT3 RS in Milpitas. The vehicle was returned to the dealer.

On April 5, investigators determined the placement of the Porsche GT3. According to police, the driving force was identified as one in all the suspects who stole the cars from the dealership.

Investigators arrested the driving force – a 22-year-old man from Hayward – and seized the GT3.

When arrested, the person tried to throw away a loaded handgun, police said, adding that a search of his home turned up several high-powered rifles, stolen property, money and a police radio scanner.

The man was arrested on suspicion of driving or stealing a vehicle without the owner's consent, conspiracy, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition and resisting an officer, or to have stopped him.

The seek for a second suspect, who has not yet been identified, continues, police said.

SAN JOSE – The former president of a club that supports enrichment programs at a San Jose elementary school was arrested on suspicion of writing unauthorized checks price greater than $400,000 to herself, authorities said.

San Jose police began an investigation last July after receiving a web based report of a possible theft from the Schallenberger Home and School Association, police spokeswoman Stacie Shih wrote in a news release Wednesday.

The club supports enrichment programs at Schallenberger Elementary School, 1280 Koch Lane.

The investigation uncovered suspicious financial transactions that took place between 2019 and 2023, Shih said. The then president of the club was identified because the suspect.

The suspect – who’s a 51-year-old woman from San Jose – wrote about 45 fraudulent checks to herself totaling greater than $400,000, Shih said, adding that the checks presupposed to be reimbursement for represented services not provided.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for her apartment. She was arrested Tuesday and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges of grand larceny and forgery.

In an announcement, the San Jose Unified School District said it looks forward to working with prosecutors on the case.
