The trailer for Meghan Markle's Netflix Lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan” collected greater than 1.7 million prospects On YouTube After it had debuted on January 2. However, the show was hardly mentioned when the dominant streaming service on the planet held its programs for the programming of 2025 within the Egyptian theater on Wednesday within the Egyptian theater.

In fact, the comedian John Mulaney began in Meghan and Prince Harry's Content Creator effort when he got here to Ben Affleck, Tina Fey and other stars on the event to advertise their recent movies or streaming series. According to the Hollywood reporter.

Mulaney confirmed that his recent live talk show “Everybody's Live with John Mulaney” will start on March twelfth. This is per week before that when Meghan's “With Love, Meghan” is presupposed to start streaming – after the originally planned debut on January fifteenth of her show was delayed as a result of the outbreak of the devastating forest fires in Los Angeles.

When the star “Saturday Night Live” describes the unpredictable, unpredictable character of his show, he said that in response to The Hollywood Reporter, he would usually have a bunch of versatile guests.

“This will be the only place where Arnold Schwarzenegger, alongside Nikki Glaser, sits alongside a family therapist with music by Mannequin Pussy,” some free conversations with glazes and accompanied by music from the American punk and indie rock band from Philadelphia. “This is just a short scanning of guests.”

Mulaney praised Netflix when he hardly hid a discount comment, after which praised Netflix for believing in his show. “This is a really fun experiment,” he added. “Not because Harry and Meghan Netflix gave more money without a specific plan.”

Mulaney naturally refers to Netflix in 2020 to record a vigorous, five-year contract with Meghan and Harry and, in response to them, report $ 100 million for documentaries, documentaries, feature movies, scripting shows and youngsters's programs.

Netflix has accomplished the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they’ve been resigned from the British royal life, although they’d no experience in the event or production of movies or television programs. Netflix appeared to hope that her global fame would result in the talent or skilled drive as a self -examined royals to provide appealing, entertaining and even award -winning content.

Industry experts akin to Matthew Belloni and Lesley Goldberg at Puck have since referred to Netflix 'take care of Harry and Meghan as one among the “worst” Hollywood Peak -Tv -ära -and referred to it as a blatant example of excess and hybris. Belloni and Goldberg predicted that Netflix can be closed with the couple after 2025.

Meghan Markle, Duchess of the Sussex member of the British Royal Family with Mayor of Pasadena Victor Gordo in a house within the 2858 Highview Ave. and Altadena Dr. by Keith Birmingham, Orange County Register/ SCNG)

In August, Belloni and Goldberg found that the couple's documentary series “Harry and Meghan” in 2022 was a blockbuster hit about their departure from their unlucky royal life. Critics say that that is as a result of the proven fact that the Sussexes Dirt had relatives in regards to the British monarchy and Harry's relatives.

Belloni and Goldberg said that not one of the couple's other projects “connected”, including Meghan's “Passion Project”, an animated children's series called “Pearl” before it even began. Meghan and Harry also produced Executive “Polo”, a reality TV series about Harry's Elite Polo, who played friends. But “Polo” was awarded by critics.

Then got here the trailer for “with Love, Meghan” and even critics of the couple asked in 2018 with Harry.

In the trailer, Meghan, based in Montecito, was in a position to have a good time the glory of her high-end lifestyle in Southern California. Critics believed that the audience would enjoy their strenuous attractiveness. Scenes showed that Meghan hovered through a kitchen and a garden – although they’re supposedly not their very own – visited a beehive, arranged flowers and hobbing with outstanding guests, including Mindy Kaling, boss Roy Choi and Bay Area, Alice Waters and Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai. Before the trailer, Meghan's Viel-Zweier return to Instagram was preceded by January 1st. Both media events showed Meghan's wish for what an industry expert in 2025 described as a “metaphorical clean slate” after some difficult years for his or her public image.

Unfortunately, the timing has not been on Meghan's side for the reason that trailer's premiere. Less than per week later, the devastating palisades and Eaton forest fires broke out in and around Los Angeles, killed 27 people and destroyed greater than 18,000 houses, buildings and other structures.

A number of days later, Meghan and Netflix announced that they’d postpone the publication of the show by March 4, when Meghan swore to focus on the needs of those affected by the forest fires in my home state of California. Critics said that Meghan and Netflix had no alternative but to delay the publication of a show in regards to the Duchess who enjoyed the fun of a well -equipped kitchen and other budgetary equipment when Angelenos lost their homes.

The premiere of “With Love, Meghan” continues to be on the Netflix calendar for March 4. Denien reported. But the shortage of fanfare on the Netflix event on Wednesday on Wednesday is probably not good for the prospects of the show. The Daily Mail reported. Someone who took part within the event thought it was “shocking” that Netflix would allow one among his stars to mock Meghan and Harry when everyone was “The Head Honchos”.

“And how strange that a show by the couple who signed a multimillion dollar handling with Netflix has hardly been presented-AB saw by a short clip in a assembly,” the person also told the Daily Mail. “Even filmmaker Tyler Perry, the guy who borrowed his La House on the Sussexes after (she had left it from Great Britain) mentioned. It really felt like Netflix didn't do anything about it. “

It also remains to be seen whether Netflix has been concerned about other controversy in the past few weeks that Meghan and Harry has.

The emerging global do-goders were publicly referred to “disaster tourists” From actor Justine Bateman for her response to the Eaton Fire. They were recorded on January tenth to get a private tour through burned -out districts in Altadena by city officials, for the reason that first aiders still fought against a fireplace that only contained about 3% and needed to take care of Pasadena and Los Angeles County with a swarm People evacuated from their houses.

The following weekend the couple stood one other PR crisis after it was the topic of an extended title story in Vanity, which was a brand new round of allegations about Meghan, bullying, difficult boss – accusations that first appeared during their time as work Royal and followed her to California. The story in Vanity Fair, normally a pro-sussex publication, also showed Harry as charming, but reasonably dark, each in relation to the alleged behavior of his wife and in relation to earning his livelihood outside of a prince.

Tell one other victory for nostalgia.

Netflix is planning a restart of the “Little House on the Prairie” series, which is predicated on Laura Ingall's Wilder books.

It is a historical mental property with modern calling, since that is Nielsen has recently announced The 50-year-old television series had 13.3 billion minutes for Peacock last 12 months.

The books were based on the lifetime of Ingalls within the late nineteenth century within the American middle west. “Little House on the Prairie” ran on NBC from 1974 to 1982 and played the then children's star Melissa Gilbert as Ingalls and Michael Landon as her father Charles as PA.

The books and show focused on their family, including Mother Caroline (MA) and Laura's siblings Mary, Carrie and Grace in addition to town dwellers of Walnut Grove.

According to Netflix“The new little house in the prairie is part of the family drama, a partly epic survival story and a partly history of origin of the American West” and “will offer a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who have shaped the border.”

Trip Friendly, Chief Executive Officer from Friendly Family Productions, has a private connection to the brand new project. Her father, Ed Friendly, produced the unique series.

“It was a long hero of me to continue the legacy of my father and to adapt Wilders classic American stories for an audience of the 21st century in a way that brings fans together both of the books and the original television series,” she said.

Gilbert, who’s now 60 years old Modern prairieThe lifestyle article sold from clothing to candles.

Shares of Netflix rose greater than 14% on Tuesday after the corporate reported fourth-quarter results that beat each revenue and profit.

The company surpassed 300 million paid memberships throughout the quarter, adding a record 19 million subscribers. Netflix said the expansion was driven by its content offering, improved products and typical seasonality within the fourth quarter.

The company also said its global audience, including “additional member accounts,” is estimated to be over 700 million.

“We've really built the business on diversity and quality across all countries, regions and genres and have focused year-round on providing our members with a very strong programming offering,” Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said during an investor call .

Here's how Netflix did last quarter, ended December 31, in comparison with Wall Street estimates:

Earnings per share: $4.27 versus $4.20, in response to LSEG

Revenue: According to LSEG, $10.25 billion versus $10.11 billion

Paid Memberships: 301.63 million versus 290.9 million, in response to StreetAccount

Net income was $1.87 billion, or $4.27 per share, within the period, up from $938 million, or $2.11 per share, within the year-ago quarter.

Fourth-quarter revenue rose 16% year-over-year to $10.25 billion, above Wall Street's forecast of $10.11 billion.

For full-year 2025, Netflix raised its revenue expectations to a variety of $43.5 billion to $44.5 billion, about $500 million above its previous guidance, reflecting improved business fundamentals and the expected carryover advantage of its stronger-than-expected performance fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was the last for which Netflix will report quarterly paid subscriber numbers, as previously announced. Instead, the corporate will begin publishing a semi-annual “engagement report” alongside its second and fourth quarter releases.

The streamer on Tuesday touted the success of its fourth-quarter plan, which included the discharge of the second season of the hit series “Squid Game” in addition to live sporting events akin to the record-breaking Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match and National Football League games on Christmas Day.

“We're excited that some people came to the fight and some people came to the games, but they stayed with 'Squid Game' and with 'Carry On' and with 'Black Doves' and with 'Six Triple Eight'…” Nate Bargatzes recent comedy special,” Sarandos said. “All of those things worked really well in the quarter and continue to do so in the days and weeks after the fight and after the games.”

“And what's really most encouraging is that the retention behavior of the people who have come to these events is very similar to the people who come to all of our other major titles,” he said.

This 12 months, the corporate plans to boost its core business with more series and movies, improve its product experience and further expand its promoting business. Netflix is also expected to change into more involved in live events and gaming.

The company also plans to bring back “Strangers Things” and “Wednesday,” two of its biggest hits, in 2025. Additionally, the streamer will release a group of recent movies from top directors and actors, including Daniel Craig and Rian Johnson's third “Knives Out” film, a Russo Brothers project called “The Electric State” starring Millie Bobby Brown Lead role, “Happy Gilmore 2” with Adam Sandler and a new edition of “Frankenstein” by Guillermo del Toro.

“We are fortunate to have no distractions from managing declining linear networks and, with our focus and continued investments, to have good and improving product/market fit across the globe,” the corporate said in its earnings report on Tuesday.

Netflix also announced that it could increase prices for some streaming tiers by between $1 and $2 per 30 days.

Netflix's cheaper, ad-supported tiers accounted for greater than 55% of sign-ups in countries where the choice is obtainable, the corporate said. Netflix also noted that memberships for its ad-supported plans increased about 30% quarter-over-quarter.

“We are on track to achieve sufficient reach for Ads members in all of our advertising countries in 2025,” the corporate said. “One of our top priorities in 2025 is to improve our offering to advertisers so that we can significantly increase our advertising.”

The symbolism Meghan Markle selected for her stunning New Year's Day back to Instagram, the day before the announcement of her head-turning recent Netflix lifestyle show, couldn't be clearer.

In classic black and white images, a video, allegedly shot by Prince HarryIt shows the Duchess of Sussex barefoot and wearing an informal, flowing white shirt and white capri pants. On a wintry day, she runs toward the surf of the Pacific Ocean near her home in Montecito. She laughs playfully and uses her famous calligraphy skills to jot down a cursive “2025” within the sand.

Meghan's recent Instagram profile photo also shows her in one other, sunnier beach photo, wearing a slip-style cotton dress, also very white. She also wears a large smile and her only piece of bijou, an elegantly easy diamond necklace – According to the Daily Mail, it’s selling for $15,000. One day after launching, the Instagram account @meghan had 830,000 followers.

Meghan's Instagram return after five years was followed by an announcement on Thursday alongside Netflix that she could be launching her long-awaited lifestyle show on January 15.

Titled “With love, Meghan” The show's trailer shows the Duchess in splashes of color – within the kitchen, within the garden and even visiting a beehive – as she cooks, gardens, arranges flowers and serves cakes. Harry makes a cameo within the trailer and celebrity guests include Mindy Kaling, chef Roy Choi, and Bay Area celebrities Alice Waters and Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai.

Commenting on Meghan's New Year's post, PR experts said her seaside images and all-white outfit were apparently chosen to point out “purity” and a desire for a “metaphorical new beginning” in 2025 – after a difficult few years for her audience image.

“The all-white clothing screams 'purity of reinvention', while the '2025' etched into the sand conveniently serves as both a literal time stamp and a metaphorical new beginning,” Mark Borkowski, a top UKPR expert, told the Daily Mail.

“Meghan chose the classic Instagram post with cryptic performance art,” Borkowski continued. “It’s a textbook PR example of someone who heralds a new era and is destined to intrigue and puzzle.”

“It's a subtle power play that simultaneously arouses curiosity and conveys control,” he added.

In true influencer fashion, Meghan could also use her Instagram account to generate revenue, with firms paying as much as $1 million to advertise in one among her posts, the Daily Mail reported. There is “no reason why Meghan couldn't earn such fees,” PR expert Eric Schiffer told the Daily Mail.

The past yr hasn't exactly been kind to Meghan's brand. She faced harsh reports from the entertainment industry about staff turnover and brand problems together with her planned lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, in addition to renewed accusations within the Hollywood Reporter and the Daily Beast that she was “the difficult duchess.” the “demon boss” and he’s “terrible” to work for. Famed editor Tina Brown proclaimed in the autumn that Meghan had “the worst judgment in the world,” while media critics harshly criticized “Polo,” the “tone-deaf” Netflix series about an elite sport for the spoiled wealthy that she co-produced with Harry.

Meghan's Netflix show could counter the bad taste left by “Polo,” especially with its fun-loving vow that “we don't strive for perfection. We strive for joy.”

The New York Post also suggested that Meghan's return to Instagram might be her opportunity to regain control of the narrative surrounding her public image. deadline said her recent account also allows her to fight back against all the web trolls that led her and Harry to quit social media in 2020. Notably, Meghan isn't allowing people to comment on her recent beach post.

As a Hollywood TV actress, Meghan was an avid social media user when she ran it The Tig Lifestyle Blog, described as “a meeting place for the discerning palate – those hungry for food, travel, fashion and beauty.” She closed The Tig in 2018, shortly before she married Harry and joined the British royal family.

To promote their work as a senior royal couple, Meghan and Harry launched their hugely popular Instagram account, Sussex Royal, in April 2019. Her account reached a record 1 million followers inside six hours of launching.

But the couple canceled the Sussex Royal account across the time she quit royal duties and moved to the United States in 2020.

Meghan expressed her reluctance to return to social media on account of the “almost insurmountable” online abuse she said she faced. Deadline reported. She and Harry have also called on social media platforms to strengthen content moderation policies, saying some apps could harm young people's mental health.

Two years ago, Meghan hinted at the potential for a return to social media in an interview with The Cut from New York Magazine confiding to the reporter, “Want to know a secret? I’ll be back…on Instagram.”

It was almost two years before Meghan opened an Instagram account for her planned recent lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. Using the brand's logo, she teased its luxe coastal Central California aesthetic across “family, cooking, entertaining and home decor.” as Elle reported. Shortly after, she got a few of her famous friends to post pictures on their social media accounts showing that that they had received limited-edition pots of strawberry jam from American Riviera Orchard.

It's not clear whether American Riviera Orchard products will likely be featured in the brand new Netflix series. The trailer shows Meghan putting a label on a jar of lemon curd – however it's not the American Riviera Orchard label.

In the autumn, American Riviera Orchard was embroiled in a trademark dispute with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Most recently, the Oregon-based company, which sells high-quality gold foil-wrapped Harry and David pears, filed a lawsuit with the patent office saying the name American Riviera Orchard was too much like the “Royal Riviera” trademark they received Founders of the fruit they grow within the Rogue River Valley.

If you would like advice for a long-term relationship, I offer this: Find someone who loves you a similar way news outlets love year-end content.

The New Yorker I wrote an article 11 years ago about why our brain loves lists, and it still holds up today. Among other things: It organizes information spatially and guarantees a finite story.

The NFL story will in fact proceed in 2025 and beyond, but in the next section we provide eight NFL media stories that piqued our interest in 2024.

1. Tom Brady begins his NFL broadcasting profession

Fox has broadcast rights to the Super Bowl this yr, meaning Brady might be broadcasting the league's biggest game in his rookie season as a TV analyst. He is 15 games right into a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox, a journey that has led to quite a few comments on his performance, including several posts by this creator.

Brady's broadcast work has improved over the course of the season – not a lot that he’s an elite TV analyst, however the progress is noticeable. Still, the long-term prognosis here is that Brady's juggling as owner and TV analyst for the Las Vegas Raiders, and the restrictions that include it, appears untenable for Fox and Brady.

2. Netflix is getting an NFL games package

Netflix and the NFL announced a three-season deal for Christmas Day games through 2026 in May. This deal gets even larger as Netflix secures exclusive broadcast rights within the United States for the 2027 and 2031 editions of the Women's World Cup. These are vital signals to the market (together with its WWE rights deal given its live element) that Netflix has evolved from an interest in sports properties to a legitimate sports rights holder.

The streaming giant aired the Kansas City Chiefs-Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans games on Christmas Day and largely avoided a glitch-filled repeat of its Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight event.

3. Peacock broadcasts an everyday season game from São Paulo

The Philadelphia Eagles-Green Bay Packers game on September 6 was the primary NFL regular season game in South America and aired exclusively on Peacock, the streaming network's third exclusive NFL game following the Buffalo Bills-Los Angeles Chargers regular season game in December 2023 and the Miami Dolphins-Chiefs AFC wild card playoff game last January.

The result was a major increase in viewership for the league and the streamer. Peacock delivered 14.2 million viewers for the Eagles-Packers, significantly higher than the 7.3 million for the Bills-Chargers and Peacock's second-best NFL streaming audience of all time, behind only the Chiefs-Dolphins game (23 million viewers). . The figures include numbers from the over-the-air markets where the games ran.

The NFL will play eight international games in 2025, including in Madrid, as Spain will turn into the sixth country to host a regular-season NFL game. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt have spoken openly about it Play 16 games abroad yearly within the near future, in keeping with this report from SBJ's Ben Fischer. It is evident that we’ll soon see a window with a brand new international media rights package on Sunday morning.

4. Super Bowl LVIII sets TV rankings record

When it involves comparing today's sports viewership to yesterday's, we live in an apples-to-pomegranates world, as a consequence of aspects like latest out-of-home viewership data and cord-cutters and cord-cutters. Based on today's figures from Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, the Chiefs' 25-22 time beyond regulation victory over the San Francisco 49ers in February's Super Bowl averaged 123.7 million viewers across television and streaming platforms. That makes it the most-watched broadcast in history, surpassing the previous mark of 115.1 million for Kansas City's last-minute win over Philadelphia within the previous Super Bowl.

5. The rise of different programming

The alternative broadcasts of NFL games reached a brand new dimension in 2024 with an animated “Simpsons” alternate forged from “Monday Night Football” airs on ESPN+ and Disney+, and NBC Sports makes its NFL alternative broadcast debut on Peacock with the Texans-Chiefs game last week. This might be followed by alternative shows on Nickelodeon and ESPN's now long-running Manning Brothers show, in addition to a show featuring “Toy Story.”

6. The New Heights podcast is blowing up

The popular podcast — hosted by brothers Jason Kelce, the Eagles' center from 2011 to 2023, and current Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — signed a take care of Amazon's Wondery podcast network in 2024 to turn into the show's latest home .

The show landed on the metrics lists of the largest podcasts within the US and has nearly 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. One of the interesting points of the deal is Wondery's plan to translate the podcast into different languages to expand its global audience, including in NFL-heavy markets just like the United Kingdom and Mexico. That's a blank spot for NFL fans.

7. New broadcast rules for higher access

It wasn't a coincidence that you simply saw more in-game interviews during NFL games this season. Last May, the NFL broadcasting department outlined access changes for the NFL's television partners following a review between the league and its media rights holders. The common goal? To improve the sport content we see as NFL viewers. The latest rules included in-game coach interviews for all games, pregame player interviews for all games, pregame network coverage within the locker room, preseason player interviews, and network cameras within the coaches' booths. Search for it to proceed.

8. The NFL was ordered to pay $4.7 billion within the Sunday Ticket antitrust lawsuit…only to have the lawsuit overturned

In August, the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles overturned a $4.7 billion judgment against the NFL for collusion in raising prices for its “NFL Sunday Ticket” television package. The judge disqualified the expert reports that the jury had used to find out damages. (The jury's verdict had threatened to upend the league's strategy of selling exclusive television packages to broadcasters.) Next up: The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Per Sportico's legal creator and sports law professor Michael McMannA call will likely take many months, if not longer.

Almost 65 million people within the USA watched the 2 NFL games on Christmas Day, which Netflix had exclusive rights to broadcast. The Baltimore Ravens' win over the Houston Texans averaged 24.3 million viewers, while the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the Pittsburgh Steelers averaged 24.1 million viewers, based on Nielsen.

The U.S. audience for the Ravens-Texans game peaked during Beyoncé's halftime show, with greater than 27 million viewers tuning in to look at the star-studded performance.

“Giving our members this record-breaking day of two NFL games was the best holiday gift we could have given,” Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said in a press release. “We are grateful for our partnership with the NFL, for all of our wonderful on-air talent, and please don’t forget the electrifying Beyoncé and the brilliant Mariah Carey.”

Wednesday's games were the primary under a three-year deal between the NFL and Netflix to broadcast Christmas games exclusively on the streaming giant.

The NFL wasn't the one sports league feeling the vacation spirit. According to Nielsen, the NBA – which usually dominates Christmas sports programming – set a record for the most-watched Christmas Day in five years, averaging 5.25 million viewers per game across five games a day within the US.

The Los Angeles Lakers' victory over the Golden State Warriors was the most-watched NBA regular season and Christmas game in five years, averaging 7.76 million viewers and peaking at 8.32 million viewers. The first game of the day, the New York Knicks' win over the San Antonio Spurs, averaged 4.91 million viewers, making it the most-watched Christmas Day opening game in 13 years.

Overall, viewership for the five games increased by 84% in comparison with Christmas in 2023. The games were broadcast on Disney's Cable and streaming platforms ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+ and ESPN+.

The high rankings were a welcome sign for the NBA, which has struggled with lower viewership this yr.

GENEVA (AP) — FIFA has signed a U.S. broadcast cope with Netflix for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil in addition to the 2031 edition, which might be played within the United States

The deal announced on Friday is probably the most significant FIFA has signed with a streaming service for a significant tournament. The value was not stated, although international competitions in women's football have struggled to draw quality offers.

RELATED: 'Why did we even start this?' Santa Clara officials say the 2026 FIFA World Cup will 'almost certainly' be a money loser

World Cups are typically broadcast on free-to-air public channels to succeed in the most important possible audience, and the last women's edition in 2023 earned FIFA lower than 10% of the 2022 men's World Cup.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino had publicly criticized public broadcastersparticularly in Europe, attributable to undervalued offers to broadcast the 2023 tournament, which was held in Australia and New Zealand. This tournament was broadcast by Fox within the USA

“This agreement sends a strong signal about the true value of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and global women’s football,” Infantino said in a press release on Friday.

FIFA will likely use the Netflix deal to advance talks with European broadcasters, that are more likely to be tough negotiations.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire, co-host of The Price of Football podcast, said the deal was “a bit of a gamble” for FIFA and “saber rattling” for Infantino.

“As (Netflix) gains experience in broadcasting football, FIFA can say: 'We're now working with a blue-chip organization, so watch out, you evil Europeans,'” Maguire, a tutorial on the University of Liverpool, said in a telephone interview.

FIFA and Infantino also wish to increase broadcast contract prices to fund higher prize money and shut the gender pay gap at the lads's World Cup.

At the 2022 Men's World Cup in Qatar, the 32 team associations shared prize money of $440 million. For the Women's tournament 2023FIFA had a complete fund of $152 million for prize money, contributions to team preparation costs and payments to players' clubs.

In FIFA's Financial accounts for 2023The Football Association reported total broadcast revenue of $244 million. In the 12 months of the 2022 Men's World Cup, it was almost $2.9 billion.

The next Women's World Cup can be a 32-team, 64-game tournament in 2027, played from June 24 to July 25 in Brazil Original US bid along with Mexico.

The 2031 host has not yet been decided, although the United States will likely bid for a tournament that FIFA expects to expand to 48 teams. That would match the scale of the 104-game format of the lads's World Cup, which can debut in 2026 within the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Spain won the 2023 Women's World Cup after the United States won the previous two titles – 2019 in France and 2015 in Canada.

“Bringing this iconic tournament to Netflix isn’t just about streaming games,” said Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer. “It’s also about celebrating the players, culture and passion that are driving the rise of women’s sport around the world.”

Netflix entered live sports last month, with greater than 60 million households watching heavily hyped boxing match between retired heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and social media personality Jake Paul. Some spectators spoke up Streaming problemsHowever.

Netflix will even broadcast two NFL games on Christmas Day: the Kansas City Chiefs on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens on the Houston Texans. That's a part of it a three-year contract announced in May.

FIFA has been attempting to win an exclusive global cope with Apple+ to broadcast the inaugural 32-team Club World Cup, which can be played in 11 U.S. cities next June and July.

Broadcasters showed little interest within the FIFA club event, which is now being broadcast freed from charge on the streaming service DAZN, which is constructing closer business ties with Saudi Arabia.

Ahead of the following Women's World Cup, Netflix will “produce exclusive documentary series in the lead-up to both tournaments, spotlighting the world's best players, their journey and the global growth of women's football,” FIFA said.

The company on Thursday reported earnings per share of $5.40 for the three months ended Sept. 30, beating the LSEG consensus estimate of $5.12. Revenue also beat expectations, coming in at $9.83 billion, ahead of analysts' expectations of $9.77 billion.

Crucially, Netflix saw momentum in its ad-supported membership tier, increasing 35% quarter-over-quarter. While Netflix doesn't expect promoting to change into its primary growth driver until 2026, the corporate said the ad tier accounted for over 50% of sign-ups within the third quarter within the countries where it is out there.

Netflix also gave an upbeat outlook for the December quarter, saying it expects fourth-quarter revenue to rise 14.7% to $10.13 billion. Revenue is forecast to be $43 billion to $44 billion in 2025, which might represent growth of 11% to 13% over expected 2024 revenue of $38.9 billion.

Analysts at Citi said in a note following Netflix's earnings report that the corporate's fourth-quarter outlook was “above the Street,” while its 2025 forecast was “relatively in line with consensus estimates.”

Richard Broughton, chief executive of Ampere Analysis, told CNBC's “Squawk Box Europe” on Friday that Netflix has benefited from continued investment in content despite a bleak environment for the broader media landscape.

“It is indicator that a few of the growth that disappeared from the market in 2022 is returning. If you consider the last 24 months, we've had content spending cuts, hiring freezes, layoffs at a few of the key studios, etc. “And through that, Netflix has looked to continue to invest in content over the next few years,” Broughton said.

“If we take into consideration scripted television, dramas, romance and science fiction, Netflix will probably be liable for almost one in ten global series next yr. “The company is in a very, very different position compared to some of its competitors alone.”

LOS ANGELES – American gymnast Jordan Chiles desires to reverse a call that stripped her of her first Olympic individual medal.

Video footage shot for the Netflix documentary series “Simone Biles Rising” could help her.

Chile's lawyers filed an appeal with the Swiss Federal Supreme Court on Monday looking for to overturn a call by the Court of Arbitration for Sport that declared Romania's Ana Barbosu the bronze medalist in floor exercise on the Paris Olympics last month.

Chiles was awarded the medal on August 5 after a request from her coach Cecile Landi resulted within the judges improving Chiles' rating, moving the UCLA gymnast up from her initial fifth-place finish to 3rd. It was a historic moment, with gold medalist Rebeca Andrade, silver medalist Biles and Chiles forming the primary all-black gymnasts' podium in Olympic history.

But a couple of days later, following a hearing requested by Romanian officials, the CAS ruled that Landis's investigation had missed the one-minute closing date by 4 seconds. The International Olympic Committee then awarded Barbosu the bronze medal and relegated Chile to fifth place.

USA Gymnastics immediately appealed the choice to CAS, providing video evidence that claimed to indicate that Landis' request got here 47 seconds after Chiles' rating was released. That appeal was denied.

The footage was submitted as evidence to the Swiss court on Monday. Chiles' lawyer noted within the filing that it got here from “Simone Biles Rising” director Katie Walsh and production company Religion of Sport. Walsh and her team were on location in Paris to film Biles' Olympic trip for the second a part of the series – and in addition they ended up capturing necessary footage for Chiles' case.

According to the court document filed in German, Walsh reached out to Landi after Chiles' decision to precise her support. Landi inquired if the director had footage of what happened on the ground after Chiles' performance and eventually obtained a video that included footage from the three cameras Religion of Sport deployed on the event, in addition to NBC's live broadcast and a running clock.

Religion of Sports and Chiles' attorney Maurice Suh didn’t reply to a request for comment for this text.

According to the court document, the video shows Landi walking to the judge's table 47 seconds after Chile's rating was announced. Two seconds later, the filing says, Landi will be heard making a verbal objection while a technical assistant makes eye contact together with her and acknowledges receipt of the objection. Landi made the objection a minimum of over again before the 60-second closing date expired.

In an announcement on Monday, Suh said Chiles' “right to be heard” was violated when the CAS refused to confess the video evidence. He also claims there was a “serious conflict of interest” because Hamid G. Gharavi, the chair of the CAS panel that heard Chiles' case, was also representing Romania as a lawyer on the time of the hearing.

Chiles and Biles are among the many gymnasts participating within the Gold Across America Tour, which stops at Crypto.com Arena on Friday.
