Jared Birchall, Elon Musk's asset manager and head of his family office, is listed as chief executive officer. Jehn Balajadia, a long-time Musk worker who worked at SpaceX and the Boring Co., is called because the official contact.

But they don’t have anything to do with Musk's recent tech company or the political operation that endeared him to Donald Trump. Instead, they’re linked to the billionaire's recent Montessori school called Ad Astra outside Bastrop, Texas, based on documents filed with state authorities and obtained through a Texas Public Information Act request.

The world's richest person runs an overlapping empire of six firms – or seven for those who include his political motion committee. In addition to rockets, electric cars, brain implants, social media and the subsequent Trump administration, he’s increasingly focused on education, from preschool through college. Part of his efforts were revealed last 12 months when Bloomberg News reported that his foundation had committed about $100 million to create a technology-focused elementary and secondary school in Austin, with eventual plans for a university. According to the Musk Foundation's most up-to-date tax filing, it committed an extra $137 million in money and stock last 12 months.

Ad Astra is near becoming a reality. State documents show Texas authorities issued an initial permit last month, clearing the best way for the middle to operate with as much as 21 students. Ad Astra's website says it’s “currently open to all children ages 3 to 9.” The school's account on

To operate the college, Ad Astra is partnering with an organization with billionaire experience: Xplor Education, which developed the Hala Kahiki Montessori School in Lanai, Hawaii, the island 98% owned by Oracle Corp. Founder Larry Ellison belongs.

Ad Astra is positioned on a highway outside Bastrop, a bedroom community about 30 miles from Austin and a part of a region home to several of Musk's firms. On a recent weekday morning visit, a single Toyota Prius sat within the car parking zone and nobody answered the door of the white constructing with a gray metal roof. The school's important entrance was blocked by a gate and there was no sign of youngsters on the premises.

But the data that exists about Ad Astra makes it sound like a reasonably typical, albeit high-quality, Montessori preschool. The proposed schedule includes “themed, STEM-based activities and projects” in addition to outdoor play and nap times. A sample snack calendar with carrots and hummus. Although Birchall and Balajadia's names appear in the applying, it will not be clear whether they’ll play a major role once the college is operational.

Musk, Birchall and Balajadia didn’t reply to emailed questions. A call and email to the college went unanswered.

Access to quality, reasonably priced child care is a serious issue for working parents across the country, and tends to be a very vexing problem in rural areas like Bastrop. Many families live in “childcare deserts” where there’s either no facility or no available space gives. The opening of Ad Astra gives Musk the chance to showcase his vision for education and his support for hands-on learning and problem-solving, an indicator of his industrial firms. His public statements on learning often intersect with cultural causes popular with conservatives and the “Make America Great Again” movement, and sometimes deal with what he sees as young minds being indoctrinated by teachers who spread left-wing propaganda. He has spoken out against diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, posting in August that “many schools are teaching white boys to hate themselves.”

Musk's educational interests fit his recent role as Trump's “first buddy.” The billionaire has envisioned a task he – and now the brand new Trump administration – calls “DOGE,” or “Department of Government Efficiency.” Although not an actual division, DOGE now posts on X, the social media platform that Musk owns. “The Department of Education has spent over $1 billion promoting DEI in American schools,” the Dec. 12 report said.

Back in Texas, Bastrop quickly becomes a serious draw for Musk. The Boring Co., his tunnel construction company, relies there in an unincorporated area. Across the road, SpaceX produces Starlink satellites in a 46,000-square-foot facility.

Nearby, X is constructing a constructing for trust and security forces. Musk employees and most of the people can buy snacks at Boring Bodega, a supermarket in Musk's Hyperloop Plaza that also features a bar, candy store and hair salon.

“Ad Astra’s mission is to foster curiosity, creativity and critical thinking in the next generation of problem solvers and developers,” the college’s website says. A job posting on the Montessori Institute of North Texas website states: “As their parents support the breakthroughs that expand the realm of human possibility, their children will grow into the next generation of innovators in a way that only authentic Montessori can provide. “

The school has hired an executive director, according to documents obtained by Bloomberg from Texas Health and Human Services. According to the documents, Ad Astra is located on a 40-acre property that says a 4,000-square-foot house will be converted for the preschool.

It's not unusual for entrepreneurs to be interested in education, according to Bill Gormley, a professor emeritus at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy who studies early childhood education. Charles Butt, chairman of the Texas-based grocery chain HEB, has made public education a focus of his philanthropy. Along with other business and community leaders, Butt founded Raise Your Hand Texas, which advocates for school funding, teacher staffing and retention issues, and full funding for pre-kindergarten.

“Musk is not the only business owner who recognizes the value of preschool for Texas workers,” Gormley said. “Many politicians and business people are excited about education in general – and preschool in particular – because they are overwhelmed by the prospect of a better workforce.”

Political moves

Musk spent much of October actively promoting Trump's presidential effort and have become probably the most prolific donor of the election cycle. He donated no less than $274 million to political groups in 2024, including $238 million to America PAC, the political motion committee he founded.

While the overwhelming majority of cash raised by America PAC got here from Musk himself, the corporate also received support from other donors. Betsy DeVos, who served as education secretary during Trump's first term, donated $250,000, federal records show.

The Ministry of Education is already within the crosshairs of the brand new government. Trump campaigned on the thought of dismantling the department and dismantling diversity initiatives, and he has also targeted transgender rights.

“Instead of indoctrinating young people with inappropriate racial, sexual and political material, which we are doing now, our schools must be completely refocused to prepare our children for success in the world of work,” Trump wrote in Agenda 47, his campaign platform.

Musk has three children with musician Grimes and three with Shivon Zilis, who prior to now was actively involved with Neuralink, his brain-machine interface company. All are under five years old. Musk recently took X, his son with Grimes, on a visit to Capitol Hill. After his visit, he presented a graph showing the expansion of leadership in America's public schools since 2000.

Tuition fees

Musk is a fan of practical education. During a Tesla conference call in 2018, he spoke in regards to the need for more electricians as the electrical automotive maker expanded the energy side of its business. On the Joe Rogan podcast in 2020, Musk said that “too many smart people are going into finance and law.”

“I have great respect for people who work with their hands, and we need electricians, plumbers and carpenters,” Musk said while campaigning for Trump in Pennsylvania in October. “This is much more important than additional courses in political science.”

Ad Astra's website says tuition will initially be subsidized, but in coming years “tuition fees will be in line with local private schools that offer an extended day program.”

“I think we need significant reform in education,” Musk said at a separate Trump campaign event. “The priority should be to give children skills that they will find useful later in life and to banish any kind of social propaganda from the classroom.”

Some of his ventures are already benefiting enormously from federal contracts. According to a study by FedScout, SpaceX has received greater than $19 billion from federal government contracts. More lucrative contracts may very well be added under a second Trump presidency. SpaceX is on the right track to earn billions of dollars annually from prime contracts with the federal government in the approaching years, in line with Geoff Orazem, CEO of FedScout.

Musk, who has often accused the federal government of stifling innovation, might also push for less regulation of his firms. Earlier this month, Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy were tapped by Trump to steer a government efficiency group called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In a recent op-ed within the Wall Street Journal, Musk and Ramaswamy wrote that DOGE “will pursue three broad types of reforms: regulatory rollbacks, administrative reductions, and cost savings.” They went on to say that many existing federal regulations were never passed by Congress and due to this fact ought to be repealed, which President-elect Trump could achieve through executive motion. Musk and Ramaswamy also advocated for large-scale audits of agencies, accusing the Pentagon of failing its seventh consecutive audit.

“Elon Musk and his companies would benefit from a Trump administration primarily through deregulation and deficit spending, you know, by providing fewer resources to the federal agencies charged with overseeing him and his companies,” says CNBC- Technology reporter Lora Kolodny.

To learn the way else Elon Musk and his firms may gain advantage if the president-elect's voice is heard, watch the video.

On November 12, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would appoint Elon Musk, the world's richest man, to go a newly formed organization Ministry of Government Efficiency alongside fellow tech billionaire and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The recent department shall be tasked with reining in government bureaucracy, reining in government spending and reducing regulation.

Musk has clearly expressed his support for Trump's campaign potentially illegal financial “freebies” to the voters. Although Musk's direct involvement in electoral politics is recent, attempts by tech corporations and their executives to reshape public policy and governance have a protracted history, from transportation and housing to urban planning.

If we take a more in-depth have a look at a few of these initiatives, perhaps we will get a preview of what Musk's Ministry of Government Efficiency is attempting to do, what government-by-tech might appear to be, and what could go fallacious.

Replacing public services

In 2013, Musk himself proposed a brand new type of public transportation called “Hyperloop” to attach Los Angeles and San Francisco. And Musk's SpaceX is his try and surpass publicly funded NASA in rocket constructing.

But other technology corporations also had similar ambitions.

Uber has made a variety of attempts replace public transport. Companies like Sidewalk Labs (a subsidiary of Google's parent company Alphabet) have made efforts Replacement for urban infrastructure by constructing so-called “smart cities” that collect and analyze data about people’s behavior to make decisions about service delivery.

One economist even has recommended that Amazon bookstores could replace public libraries. Tech corporations have challenged public offerings in such diverse areas Training, Identity verification And Housing.

The limits of disruption

Many government-by-tech projects have one thing in common: the idea that government is fundamentally inefficient and that (unregulated) technology can provide higher solutions.

Silicon Valley tech corporations have long advocated “Disturbance“, the idea of overthrowing a moribund status quo through innovation. Unlike public bureaucracies, the argument goes, companies can “Move fast and break things” to seek out recent and more efficient ways to deliver services and value.

Tech corporations that follow this philosophy have actually provided services that profit lots of us in our every day lives and made enormous amounts of cash. But that doesn't mean that the Silicon Valley model is sensible for public administration. In fact, the evidence suggests quite the alternative.

A story of failure

The tech industry's forays into public service delivery have had mixed results.

In 2017, the Canadian city of Innisfil has replaced all public transportation with Uber. The result was rising costs to the town (fees paid to Uber), more cars on the road, and better transportation costs for low-income residents.

Sidewalk Labs' smart city experiment in Toronto was abandoned in 2021 after privacy and scheduling objections arose.

In housing, disruptions within the tech industry have exacerbated existing problems with Airbnb and other short-term rental providers Contribution to the housing crisis.

Narrow solutions for narrow problems

Technology corporations also are likely to give attention to a comparatively narrow range of problems. Silicon Valley helped us discover a taxi, select a restaurant for dinner, navigate a city efficiently, transfer money to our friends, and find the most effective rental for our vacation.

Fewer solutions have been provided for locating low-income housing, caring for the elderly or reducing our energy consumption. There are necessary reasons for this: Tech corporations wish to generate revenue by tapping into upper-middle class consumers with disposable income.

But these gaps also reflect that Lack of diversity in Silicon Valley itself. The tech industry remains to be predominantly white, predominantly male, predominantly upper middle class and predominantly highly educated. This impacts the forms of problems Silicon Valley sees and the forms of solutions it produces.

This is all bad enough for the private sector. However, the federal government's job just isn’t simply to take care of shareholders or customers (and even just those that voted for them), but reasonably to look in spite of everything of its residents.

Services for the few

The concern here is that the sorts of solutions and “efficiencies” Silicon Valley is producing could find yourself serving the few on the expense of the numerous. Some “inefficiencies” in public services arise from the incontrovertible fact that they’re designed to accommodate as many individuals as possible. For example, provisions and protections for the elderly, for individuals with disabilities, for individuals who may not speak English as their first language require more bureaucracy and more regulation.

Musk has said that public transportation is a “Pain in the ass”where you’ve to face next to potential serial killers. Of course in many places Public transportation carries no such stigma. Additionally, many who would really like to commute in private jets (and even Teslas) have little alternative but to subject themselves to the vagaries of a public bus.

One of SpaceX's goals is to scale back the price of a visit to Mars to under $1 million. This could be a remarkable achievement, however it means Musk's planned Mars colony would remain incredibly elite. Spaceships and hyperloops are completely inadequate as public policy.

Unsexy necessities

While the philosophy of disruption seeks to downplay the importance of existing infrastructure and institutions, the technology industry itself relies on them. Uber relies on cars and roads (including the governments that maintain them), Airbnb relies on brick-and-mortar buildings (and the employees who construct them), and Amazon and eBay depend on transportation infrastructure and postal services.

All technology corporations depend on established and enforced financial, ownership and tax systems. These old infrastructures and institutions could be unsexy and even inefficient.

However, these so-called inefficiencies have often evolved consistent with fairness, justice and inclusivity. The track records of Silicon Valley tech corporations don’t suggest that they share such values.

A hearing on Krasner's motion began Thursday morning in state court. But the hearing soon ended after a judge there said Musk's transfer of the case to federal court prevented any motion in state court.

Krasner accuses Musk and the PAC of running an illegal lottery and attempting to influence voters within the presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

The lawsuit also accuses Musk and the PAC supporting Trump of violating state consumer protection laws.

U.S. District Judge Gerald Pappert in his Verdict On Friday, the case was sent back to the Court of Common Pleas, rejecting arguments from Musk's lawyers that the lawsuit needs to be heard in federal court in Philadelphia since it pertains to the upcoming presidential election.

“But federal question jurisdiction does not depend on a plaintiff’s motives for bringing a lawsuit; What matters is whether the legal issues arising from the claims originate in federal or state law,” wrote Pappert, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama.

Pappert said the defendants had identified “no question of federal law” that needed to be resolved in favor of the prosecution “to prove a claim under state law.”

Krasner's office said in an announcement Friday: “This decision is consistent with the District Attorney's argument that last-hour efforts by America PAC and Mr. Musk to withdraw the case from state court in Philadelphia were unlawful.”

CNBC has reached out to an attorney for Musk and America PAC for comment.

Musk said on October 19 that the PAC would randomly award $1 million per day until Election Day to registered voters in one in all seven swing states – including Pennsylvania – who had signed a petition supporting the U.S. Constitution . The first three honorees got here from Pennsylvania.

After being sued by Krasner within the Court of Common Pleas on Monday, Musk was ordered to look in that state court on Thursday morning for an emergency hearing, where a judge planned to contemplate Krasner's request for an injunction to stop the lottery in Pennsylvania.

But on Wednesday evening, attorneys for Musk and the PAC filed a notice in federal court withdrawing the lawsuit.

On Thursday morning, after Musk failed to look at his hearing, Court of Common Pleas Judge Angelo Foglietta said the case couldn’t proceed, at the very least for now, due to move to federal court.

Summers hours later asked Pappert to return the case from federal court.

Musk's attorney, Matthew Haverstick, filed a motion Friday asking Foglietta to vacate the order that Musk appear in person when a hearing on Krasner's request for a preliminary injunction resumes.

“His presence is now required only to harass and oppress,” Haverstick wrote within the motion.

“Plaintiff seeks to harass and unlawfully sideline Defendant Musk in the final days before a closely contested presidential election,” the attorney wrote. “To say this is inappropriate would be a gross understatement. The attempt to impede Defendant Musk from exercising his First Amendment rights is absolutely unconstitutional coming from a government official.”

Musk has eschewed traditional marriage and has reportedly offered to donate his sperm for IVF purposes to varied women, including Nicole Shanahan, Robert F.
People near Musk also said he was “only half joking” when he offered to impregnate Taylor Swift in September. The offer got here in a post on his X social media platform after the pop star expressed her support for Kamala Harris and signed her endorsement “Childless Cat Lady.”

In a way, Musk's existential fears are about declining population rates in some developed countries – although the world's population is predicted grow by 2 billion over the subsequent 60 years — are reflected within the complex he created from two properties within the upscale Austin neighborhood, based on the Times.

His $35 million estate consists of a 14,400-square-foot Tuscan-style mansion and a second six-bedroom mansion. Musk has reportedly told people near him that he envisions the 2 moms of his children, Grimes and Shivon Zilis, occupying the adjoining properties. That way, the six young children he had with the 2 women may very well be a part of one another's lives and Musk could balance time between the 2 households.

Musk would also prefer to make room on his estate for his first wife, creator Justine Musk, with whom he has five children, all of their late teens or older, the Times said.
Tensions between Grimes and Musk appeared to have flared over his relationship with Zilis, an executive at Neuralink, Musk's brain technology startup. In 2021, without Grimes' knowledge, Musk donated sperm to Zilis, who became pregnant with twins through IVF, three people aware of the couple told the Times. That same 12 months, Musk and Grimes were expecting a second child, also conceived through IVF but carried by a surrogate mother.

According to creator Walter Isaacson's biography of Musk, the 2 women, who were friends, were also unknowingly in the identical hospital in Austin around the identical time. The Times said Zilis gave birth to twins in late 2021, weeks before Grimes' second child was born. The musician only discovered that Musk had fathered Zilis' children a month after their birth.

Such reports appear to substantiate Vivian Wilson's claim that her father is “not a family man” but “a serial adulterer.”

Wilson spoke out against Musk in August after he gave an interview with controversial Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson. Musk blamed estrangement from his daughter, who’s transgender. about how she was “dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”

Over the summer, Musk had develop into a vocal opponent of transgender rights and gender-affirming care as he embraced features of the right-wing agenda, leading him to declare his enthusiastic support for Trump in July.

Wilson condemned his South African-born father for portraying himself as a job model for family values or for equality and progress. “You are not a Christian, as far as I know you have never set foot in a church. They are not a 'bastion of equality/progress,'” she said.

Wilson also disputed Musk's claim that he is saving the planet, either by starting his electric car company or by launching SpaceX to colonize Mars in case Earth one day becomes uninhabitable.

As for Musk's pronatalist “birth rate stuff,” Wilson said she wouldn't touch this “weird…breeder (expletive) with a 10-foot pole.”

“You have single-handedly disillusioned me with how gullible we are as a species because people somehow continue to believe you for reasons that continue to elude me,” Wilson concluded.

Tesla's Robovan may operate autonomously, but in accordance with a sci-fi director, Elon Musk doesn't.

Last week, Musk unveiled Tesla's latest prototypes for its autonomous electric bus, the self-driving Cybercab and the humanoid robot Optimus, also generally known as the Tesla Bot. But the automotive executive's supposedly cutting-edge designs bear a striking resemblance to those of a science fiction film released twenty years ago.

“I, Robot” director Alex Proyas mocked Musk on a Sunday over the alleged rip-off X Post through which he compares images from his 2004 film and a trio of recent Tesla products side by side. The products were launched last week on the We, Robot event – the title of which clearly references the Isaac Asimov short story collection on which Proyas' film is predicated.

“Hey Elon, can I have my designs back please?” Proyas wrote, which received a mixed response.

“Elon has no ideas of his own… and no leadership skills,” one user replied.

“Be happy that someone actually has a good chance of getting this into production. We all know you wouldn’t do that,” one other countered.

Representatives for Proyas and Musk didn’t immediately reply to The Times' request for comment on Monday.

But life has imitated science fiction art again and again. Pixar's “Wall-E” is mirrored newer garbage collection robotsand wireless earbuds work similarly to that thimble radios in “Fahrenheit 451.”

During Thursday's event, originally scheduled for August but postponed because the technology was optimized, Musk declared his intention to revolutionize travel together with his self-driving taxi and van, adding that Tesla could be fully operational by next yr autonomous vehicles can have on the road.

The Space-X founder also said his Optimus robotdisplaying the peace sign and serving drinks to attendees would make goods and services more cost-effective and accessible, The Times reported Friday.

“It will be an age of abundance the likes of which few could have imagined,” Musk told the group.

Multi-billionaires are eccentric. It's common knowledge that Joker: Folie à Deux is a terrible film, just as water is wet and fire is hot.

From Jeff Bezos to Peter Thiel to Richard Branson to Howard Hughes (adjusted for inflation), they're doing strange things: shooting themselves into space, investing in treatments to “cure” aging, buying islands, and washing their hands lots.

It is rare that the opposite 99.9% of us are directly subject to their whims of world ownership, at the same time as we not directly suffer the results of the carbon emissions of their rocket ships, self-serving super PACS and non-payment of taxes.

Elon Musk, nonetheless, is a unique story.

Since the owner of Tesla and Space I cite freedom of speech because this shouldn’t be the form of freedom of speech that individuals in dictatorships or theocracies fight and die for.

Musk's idea of ”freedom” is to amplify hate speech, sow misinformation, foment conspiracies, support nationalists in countries like India and Argentina, and comply with censorship demands from authoritarian regimes like Turkey's.

Screaming lies

As for our presidential race here at home, Musk's misleading election claims on X were viewed 1.2 billion times between January and July of this yr, based on the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

Then there are the creepy posts, just like the one directed at Taylor Swift after she supported Kamala Harris on Instagram and signed off as “Childless Cat Lady.” “Fine, Taylor…you win,” Musk wrote on X last month. “I'll give you a child and protect your cats with my life.” Gross.

Musk recently amplified false claims and conspiracy theories that Federal Emergency Management Agency officials were “actively blocking” aid shipments to victims of Hurricane Helene, “seizing goods … and locking them up to claim they were their own.”

Musk also spread the politically motivated MAGA lie that FEMA was wanting funds since it spent an excessive amount of on undocumented immigrants. He accused the agency of “treason” and falsely wrote that the agency “used up its budget bringing illegals into the country instead of saving American lives.” So much for helping our fellow Americans in times of need.

Instead, the world's richest man used his megaphone to deceive disaster victims and tell them that help was not on the way in which. The false information was consistent with election propaganda favoring the Trump campaign.

dictate policy

Musk's penchant for aligning himself with the chaos monkeys on the far right would still be unlucky, but far less harmful, if his tendencies didn't also dictate policies for the nearly 200 million every day X users worldwide.

Since Musk bought Twitter, he has made it harder to discover trustworthy accounts by selling the blue “verified” checkmark as an alternative of checking users to see in the event that they are who they are saying they’re.

X then began sharing promoting revenue with its “premium” users, allowing users to be paid by advertisers for his or her engagement. And guess which posts get probably the most attention? Sensational made-up news, troll attacks and hateful racist/sexist/homophobic rhetoric.

He also restored previously suspended accounts, resembling those of skilled misogynist Andrew Tate, rapper Kanye West, who was banned from the platform for his anti-Semitic rants, and Donald Trump.

Before Musk, when X was still Twitter, the social media platform was also known as a “global town square.” It was a spot to compensate for the newest in a fast-moving news cycle, and plenty of media outlets used the platform to interrupt breaking news or spread their work, as Twitter was often faster than news platforms and gave their stories more exposure .

If X is a city square, it would be overrun by a right-wing mob marching uncontrollably through otherwise crowded streets. And Musk is their jubilant benefactor.

Earlier this week, Musk explained that the super PAC he created is offering $47 to anyone who registers as a swing state voter and signs a petition supporting the first and 2nd Amendments. “Easy money!” he posted.

Musk appeared at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last weekend wearing a black MAGA hat and declared: “I'm not just MAGA; I am Dark MAGA.” It was a reference to a “Terminator” meme adopted by the far right. He then encouraged people to vote, saying in the event that they don't, “this will be the last election.”

Musk also wore an undersized T-shirt that read “Occupy Mars” and started jumping up and down – posting countless memes – to indicate his enthusiasm for the person he’s supporting within the election. It was awkward to say the least.

Even Trump looked annoyed.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg spoke on to Elon Musk on the billionaire's X platform on Friday to counter false conspiracies about federal disaster aid to victims Hurricane Helene that Musk spread on X, where his follower count is over 200 million.

“No one is closing airspace and the FAA is not blocking legitimate rescue and recovery flights,” Buttigieg wrote. “If you encounter a problem, call me.”

Buttigieg responded to a post by Musk that falsely claimed the Federal Aviation Administration would close airspace within the disaster area and “throttle” flights transporting supplies.

An FAA spokesperson told CNBC: “There are no airspace restrictions in effect in North Carolina as recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene continue. Pilots planning to fly into Asheville or Rutherford airports must contact the airport to obtain permission to land. This is the case with the FAA. “We are working with local authorities to ensure that rescue operations are carried out safely.”

Musk's false claim was considered one of them several conspiracies Musk spoke this week about federal emergency personnel as tens of 1000’s of individuals turn to government agencies to supply disaster relief within the hardest-hit states Helene.

A spokeswoman for the Federal Emergency Management Agency responded to Musk in a press release to CNBC: “The allegations that FEMA seized or confiscated goods, supplies or resources in North Carolina, Tennessee or any other state affected by Helene are false,” the said Director of Public Affairs Jaclyn Rothenberg.

FEMA has previously used Starlinks to assist with disaster relief in places like Guam, Hawaii and Alaska, she noted. In storm-ravaged North Carolina, Starlink units are supporting state and native governments, urban search and rescue, and disaster coordination efforts.

Musk has officially endorsed former Republican President Donald Trump and has turn out to be a significant donor to the Republican Party lately.

On Friday, Trump amplified Musk's false claims about FEMA and FAA on Trump's own social media platform Truth Social, where he posted them without comment to his nearly 8 million followers.

They also developed the Starlink web service free for users For 30 days within the areas devastated by Helene.

That was after FEMA had previously announced It deployed SpaceX's Starlink terminals to bring web service to distant areas affected by the storm.

He previously threatened to sue the Federal Aviation Administration, attacked the Environmental Protection Agency over its punishment of SpaceX and sharply criticized other federal agencies.

Musk's SpaceX is determined by federal agencies for billions of dollars in annual revenue, and his automaker Tesla has benefited generously from federal programs that gave the corporate a key loan, tax breaks and other subsidies and incentives.

Elon Musk is finding it difficult to distance himself from questions on which of Sean “Diddy” Combs' powerful friends and business associates could have enabled his alleged “criminal enterprise,” which authorities say involves fulfilling his sexual desires through sex trafficking and sex trafficking Several people were attacked, including a 9-year-old boy.

This week, Musk found himself at the middle of those questions after sharing a screenshot of an article on X, his social media platform. Mediaite reported. The article covered the news that the hip-hop mogul is facing recent allegations in civil court that he sexually abused greater than 100 people, including a young boy who was auditioning for his record label. The headline read: “Diddy accused of abusing nine-year-old boy and spiking drinks with horse tranquilizers as 120 victims make shocking claims.”

In response to the article, Musk wrote on X“How many people in the music and entertainment industry knew about this?”

Social media users quickly responded to Musk by mentioning his own relationship with Combs, Mediaite reported. Some pointed to a brand new book during which Musk reportedly bragged about his friendship with Combs, saying, “We write a lot.” The Hollywood Reporter also reported in August that a fund tied to the entrepreneurial Combs was among the many investors in Musk's $44 billion bid to purchase Twitter in 2023, which he renamed X.

A outstanding respondent to Musk's post was singer Aubrey O'Day. Page Six reports. The outspoken media personality and former mentee of Combs hit back at Musk on Wednesday by suggesting that the Tesla CEO's “friends” knew about Combs' alleged abuses. O'Day, who has criticized Combs for years, reposted Musk's comment and said he should do it “Ask your friends, they’ll tell you.”

It is unclear which of Musk's “friends” O'Day was referring to. Neither she nor Musk responded to Page Six's request for comment.

Earlier this week, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee announced that he’s representing 120 people – including a 9-year-old child – in civil lawsuits against Combs over allegations spanning the past three a long time. said Page Six in one other report.

Buzbee alleged that the Bad Boy Records founder sexually assaulted the minor while he was amongst a gaggle of boys delivered to New York City to audition for Combs' Bad Boy Records, Page Six reported.

“This individual was allegedly sexually abused by Sean Combs and several other people in the studio with the promise of both his parents and himself of getting a record deal,” Buzbee said at a press conference in Houston. The attorney also alleged that Combs drugged his alleged victims by spiking horse tranquilizers into their drinks.

“Several of the people (I represent) … were drug tested and drugs were found in their bodies,” he said, in response to Page Six.

During the press conference, Buzbee also claimed that a pregnant woman's drink was “laced” with drugs while she attended a dinner with the rapper in Miami. The lawyer said the girl, who said she had tried to avoid alcoholic beverages throughout the night, “blacked out” and “woke up in the same bed – again allegedly – with Mr. Combs at his Miami mansion.” Her vagina and anus were torn and sore.”

After Buzbee's press conference, Combs' legal team told Page Six that the embattled music mogul “strongly and categorically denies as false and defamatory any allegation that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.”

But throughout the press conference, Buzbee warned that the “day will come” when he names additional alleged perpetrators and bystanders connected to Combs' alleged illegal activities, Page Six reported. He said, “There are many names” and “the names will shock you.”

“We will expose the enablers who enabled this behavior behind closed doors,” Buzbee said. “We will investigate this matter regardless of who the evidence implicates.”

Combs, 54, was arrested last month on federal charges of conspiracy to commit racketeering; sex trafficking involving force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to prostitution. Although he pleaded not guilty, he was denied bail and stays in custody on the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Prosecutors say that Combs “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct” and that he “created a criminal enterprise whose Members and affiliates… sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”

According to the indictment, Combs and other members of this “enterprise” allegedly facilitated multiple “freak-off” parties, drug-fueled sex encounters that could last for days.

During his rise in the entertainment and business worlds, Combs socialized with many A-list celebrities and made sure to be seen with them at the lavish “white parties” he hosted at his homes in the Hamptons and Los Angeles . Now some of these celebrities are under pressure to tell authorities what they know about Combs' alleged illegal activities or to take responsibility for Combs' decades-long abuse of power.

Musk is one of these celebrities, even if he doesn't seem to see himself that way. But according to the new book “Character Limit,” Must bragged about his friendship with Combs to Revolt CEO Detavio Samuels after Samuels expressed concerns about racism at X among Musk's owners. Futurism.com reported.

“I don't know when you know this, but Puff is an investor in Twitter,” Musk told Samuels, using a nickname for Combs, in response to authors Kate Conger and Ryan Mac. “You know, he's a good friend of mine. We write a lot.”

In August, it was reported that Combs was involved in Musk's purchase of

Elon Musk's X faces heavy each day fines in Brazil for allegedly circumventing a ban on the service there, in response to a press release by the country's Supreme Court on Thursday.

The fines imposed by Brazil's Supreme Court amount to five million Brazilian reals, or about $920,000 a day. The court said it will proceed to impose “joint liability” on Starlink, the satellite web service owned and operated by SpaceX, Musk's space company.

X's suspension in Brazil was originally ordered by the country's chief justice, Alexandre de Moraes, in late August and upheld by a panel of judges in early September. The court found that X, under Musk, had violated Brazilian law, which requires social media corporations to employ a legal representative within the country and to remove hate speech and other content deemed harmful to democratic institutions. The court also found that X had didn’t block accounts allegedly involved in doxxing federal officials.

X recently moved to servers hosted by Cloudflare and appeared to make use of dynamic IP addresses that consistently change, allowing many users in Brazil to access the location. In a previous configuration, the corporate had used static and specific IP addresses in Brazil, which were easier to dam by Internet service providers under orders from regulators.

Musk, who owns X (formerly Twitter), has been slamming de Moraes for months and continued to achieve this after the manager order was issued, calling de Moraes a villain and comparing him to Darth Vader and Harry Potter character Voldemort. He has also repeatedly called for de Moraes' impeachment.

Brazil previously withdrew money for fines it had imposed on X from X and Starlink's accounts at financial institutions within the country. The latest fines will likely be due starting September 19, with the court calculating the overall amount based on “the number of days of non-compliance” with its previous orders to shut down X nationwide.

While Musk presents himself as an advocate of absolute freedom of expression, X has given in to requests to delete profiles and posts in countries comparable to India, Turkey and Hungary.

Musk and X might also be complying with Brazil's shutdown orders. Correio Braziliense, a Brazilian publication, reported on Wednesday that X has begun blocking accounts pursuant to the blocking orders issued by the country's Supreme Court.

Among the accounts apparently blocked were those of several web influencers who’re reportedly under investigation for spreading false information and calling for attacks on democratic institutions in Brazil.

X said it has no plans to revive access to Brazilian users.

“When X was shut down in Brazil, our infrastructure for delivering services to Latin America became inaccessible to our team,” an organization spokesperson told CNBC on Wednesday. “To continue to provide optimal service to our users, we switched network providers. This switch resulted in an unintended and temporary restoration of service to Brazilian users. While we expect the platform to become inaccessible again in Brazil soon, we continue to work with the Brazilian government to return service to the people of Brazil soon.”

Brazil's national telecommunications agency Anatel was ordered by de Moraes to stop access to the platform by blocking Cloudflare. Fastly and EdgeUno servers and others that the court said were “created to circumvent” a ban on X in Brazil.

A Cloudflare spokesperson told CNBC that the corporate “neither enables nor prevents blocking,” adding that “many Cloudflare customers choose to use dedicated IPs, which is not unique in the industry.”

Before the ban, X had an estimated 22 million users in Brazil, in response to Data reporting.
