OAKLAND – A 3rd suspect has been arrested and charged with murder within the death of a 46-year-old man who police say was beaten with high heels and stabbed within the buttocks.

Miah Newman, 19, of San Jose, was charged this week with the March 29 stabbing and beating death of Roy Ramsey. Her co-defendant, 23-year-old Kimberly Burgos, was charged earlier this month, as was a 17-year-old girl who’s being charged as a juvenile.

Two of the five women allegedly involved haven’t been identified.

One of the suspects allegedly sent a text message saying Ramsey was drunk and started the altercation by knocking Newman to the bottom, authorities said.

Both Newman and Burgos were released from prison under court orders that require them to wear GPS monitors, enroll in a job training program and never engage in prostitution or be in related areas. Court records show prosecutors didn’t challenge her release from prison.

According to authorities, Ramsey was seen arguing with a bunch of 5 suspected sex staff on the 1500 block of International Boulevard in Oakland around 2:20 a.m. The teenage girl allegedly punched him repeatedly, causing him to run to the 1400 block of fifteenth Avenue, where Newman allegedly struck him in the top with one among her high heels.

Burgos allegedly joined the fight shortly thereafter by putting Ramsey in a chokehold and throwing him to the bottom while her arm was around his neck. At some point throughout the argument, the girl allegedly pulled a knife from her bra and stabbed Ramsey within the buttocks, authorities said.

During a search of the girl's phone, police reportedly found a text message to Newman, known as “Mrs.” The text message said, “I … stabbed his butt” after which began “kicking my heels on (Ramsey)..” The text also referred to Ramsey as a “drunk guy,” authorities said.

The girl and Burgos were arrested the day after the murder, a block from where Ramsey was killed. A bloody knife was present in the girl's possession, authorities said. Newman was arrested on April 16 and allegedly admitted to putting him in a chokehold.

Ramsey's body was not discovered and reported to police until after 7 a.m., nearly five hours after police believed he had been attacked and left dead on the sidewalk, authorities said.
