By Ike Swetlitz and Madison Muller, Bloomberg News

Eli Lilly & Co.'s blockbuster weight-loss and diabetes drugs aren’t any longer in brief supply within the U.S., threatening to upend the numerous counterfeits that became popular when patients couldn't find the brand-name drugs.

The Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday that the shortage of Lilly's Zepbound and Mounjaro had been resolved. The agency added that there are “legal restrictions on the manufacture of copies of FDA-approved drugs” when there isn’t a shortage.

The FDA first introduced the deficiency classification in late 2022. This designation allowed pharmacies to sell knock-offs of the brand-name drugs – Mounjaro for diabetes and Zepbound for obesity – without having to undergo the identical laborious testing process. These copycats are widely utilized in medical spas and telehealth firms, often at a much lower cost.

Meanwhile, Lilly has invested heavily in manufacturing to extend supplies of the favored shots and has aggressively sought to limit compounded versions of the drugs. She raised concerns about quality, saying some were contaminated with bacteria or chemical contaminants. Compounders have said they follow regulations and produce high-quality drugs.

The drugmaker said Wednesday that while all doses of Zepbound and Mounjaro can be found, the refrigerated drug supply chain is complex and patients' ability to seek out specific doses in pharmacies can still vary.

“We know that many people rely on our medicines, which is why we have invested significantly to expand production and bring new options to market,” said Patrik Jonsson, executive vice chairman and president of Lilly Cardiometabolic Health and Lilly USA , in an emailed statement.

Experts estimate that a whole bunch of 1000’s of Americans have used copycat versions of Lilly's drugs or similar shots from Novo Nordisk A/S, which have also been in brief supply. Makers of such compounded drugs collectively generate as much as $1 billion a yr, in accordance with investment bankers who work with the industry.

Compounding also attracted telemedicine firms that marketed services to attach patients with health care providers who can prescribe the drugs.

The end of the shortage is more likely to limit future worsening of shortages, but some could also be allowed to proceed under other U.S. policies.

The FDA's announcement doesn’t mean that the drug will probably be available all over the place and in any respect times.

“Patients and prescribers may still experience intermittent local supply disruptions as products move through the supply chain from the manufacturer and distributor to local pharmacies,” the agency said.

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Aleksander Barkov scored two goals and two assists, Sam Reinhart added 4 assists and the Florida Panthers beat the Boston Bruins 6-1 on Wednesday night to even the second-round series at one game apiece.

Brandon Montour scored a goal and two assists, and Steven Lorentz, Gustav Forsling and Eetu Luostarinen also scored. The Panthers chased Bruins starter Jeremy Swayman for 4 straight goals early within the third period after which added two more against Linus Ullmark.

Sergei Bobrovsky finished the sport with 15 saves for the Panthers. The five-goal margin was Florida's largest margin in a playoff game, tying the mark set April 29 in one other 6-1 win over Tampa Bay.

Charlie Coyle scored the goal for the Bruins, who lost to Florida for the primary time in six meetings this season. The series moves to Boston for Game 3 on Friday night and Game 4 on Sunday night.

And now it's a streak – 136 penalty minutes handed out within the third period after multiple altercations created a narrative that may proceed into Friday, highlighted by Florida's Matthew Tkachuk, who starred in a star-versus-star showdown Several shots at David Pastrnak from Boston took the sport out of their hands.

After the primary 20 minutes, Florida was simply dominant. They didn't allow Boston even a single shot on goal for greater than 16 minutes of game time, or 53 minutes of actual game time. Parker Wotherspoon sent the puck the length of the ice with 5:08 left within the second period, which was ruled a shot since it was right at Bobrovsky. The Bruins didn't get one other try until Wotherspoon had one with 8:57 left within the third.

Swayman – who virtually split time with Linus Ullmark in the course of the regular season, making 43 starts while Ullmark had 39 starts – made his seventh straight start, the longest such run for a Boston goaltender since Tuukka Rask at the tip of the made eleven starts in a row within the 2021/22 season.

Swayman did not finish after Florida finally broke him up within the second period. Swayman stopped 19 of 23 shots and his playoff goals against average increased from 1.42 to 1.81.

Boston had not conceded a couple of goal in any period in these playoffs and had not conceded three in a period in almost two months – not because the New York Rangers scored three goals within the third period on March 21. two of them were short sellers. The Bruins hadn't had a three-goal period with a real goalie in net since March 16 against Philadelphia.

But the Panthers found a way and scored one goal early within the period, one in the midst of the quarter and one on the very end. Lorentz redirected a Montour shot into the highest corner of the online at 1:58, Barkov got here close and swept a rebound from Reinhart's shot into the online for a 2-1 lead at 9:49, after which Forsling made a small one Lead -the-clock to increase the result in 3-1.

With about seven seconds left, Montour had his glove on the puck to dam it because the Bruins attempted to clear it. His shot from the proper side went wide, Anton Lundell controlled the rebound off the tip boards and located Forsling's shot from the left side past Swayman – who seemed to be shielded by Boston defender Charlie McAvoy in the course of the play – with 1.3 seconds left.

The momentum continued within the third. Florida needed just 1:28 to make it 4-1, with Barkov easily organising Luostarinen from close range. That was the tip of Swayman's night.

SACRAMENTO – Steph Curry, master of focus, sipped a beer and stared from 10,000 yards away.

The loquacious Draymond Green appeared speechless.

The all the time positive Klay Thompson was downright desperate.

The Warriors' season ended Tuesday night by the hands of the Sacramento Kings, and the battle left the once-great champions dazed.

The query was on the faces of all of the greats before the ultimate buzzer sounded and long after:

What just happened?

Let me let you know:

The No. 10 seed within the Western Conference — the worst team within the Western Conference postseason — was jumped from the primary tip on Tuesday. They were pushed around and beaten up and offered little or no resistance Kings' omnipresent force.

The Warriors were punk.

And it made the once-mighty Warriors — with a core that played for every part and won every part — appear to be a team overmatched in a modest play-in tournament game.

Sacramento is hardly a team of destiny – a future champion on the rise. The kings stink too. This team went into this game as underdogs No. 9 vs. No. 10, had poor form and poor spirits.

Still, they defeated the Warriors with ease.

Where does this leave the Dubs within the NBA hierarchy they once stood at the highest of?

The Warriors' dynasty can have ended years ago. Maybe the 2022 title fight was something aside from dynastic. Or perhaps that run of excellence that began in 2014-15 and continued until Tuesday night's game was prolonged.

But regardless of the warriors were, they are not any more.

The 118-94 loss in a made-for-television single-elimination game between two non-contenders is a transparent dividing line.

After watching the Warriors play at the best level — and win — watching them in Tuesday's game felt incongruous with that legacy. This felt amongst the soldiers – the capital W version of this lore.

Seeing them lose so badly only made the purpose more clear.

But the reality is that great champions rarely find yourself at the highest. So a lot of the perfect last long gone the expiration date of their excellence. It's hard to stop. As Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after Tuesday's loss, there's nothing just like the highlights of elite sport – anyone who's experienced them gets hooked.

That's why Muhammad Ali's last fight was a loss to Trevor Berbick. Or why Michael Jordan played for the Wizards. Babe Ruth hit .181 for the Boston Braves at age 40.

Given the sad departures of major stars, perhaps the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento was the suitable place for this ending.

And the loss to the Kings definitely felt like the top.

Reactionary? Perhaps.

But what else would you call Tuesday?

Curry tried to single-handedly lead the Warriors to victory, just as he did in the identical constructing last April when he scored 50 points in Game 7 of those teams' first-round playoff series. Against a gradual food plan of double and triple teams, he didn't come close. Keon Ellis (I'll wait a moment so you possibly can look him up) had the perfect point guard of all time in prison. And with Curry's legs drained from the regular season of dragging this team, he had no likelihood of repeating last yr's heroics. He scored 22 points and had six turnovers.

Green attempted a yeoman push defensively, but was often the one Warrior defending. One against five is a foul ratio. While his early offensive impulses were intended to be a catalyst for the remaining of the team, his teammates never elevated their plays.

And then there's Thompson, who had found his best game in years heading into this postseason. He delivered what might be the worst performance of his profession, going 0 of 10 from the ground on Tuesday last game as a warrior.

You really don't need a comprehensive column on the state of the Warriors — you only need Thompson's box rating line from Tuesday. It says all of it.

Curry, Green and Thompson made the Warriors – of all things – arguably the best skilled basketball team ever assembled.

But Golden State is way from the excellence it once shone. Age has played its part. This also applies to failures within the front office. This pathetic performance can have been shocking, however it was neither surprising nor sudden. This team, the costliest in NBA history, had to provide every part to get into the play-in tournament. This team only had 4 wins against the six Western Conference playoff teams this season.

How could the Warriors front office return to that path of success in an offseason?

How could they get this automotive back on the road with Curry, Green, Thompson and Andrew Wiggins (4 of 11 from the ground on Tuesday) when at the very least two of those tires are completely deflated and the opposite two could explode at any time? Moment?

This team has covered some tough miles through the years. This team has held 4 title banners, but six runs to the NBA Finals will do some damage.

And while the toll was obvious long before Tuesday, it’s now inescapable and undeniable.

There will likely be loads of time – many years, even – to have fun this team's increasingly distant successes. The greatness of this Warriors core is indelible and this ending will eventually be forgotten.

But now, within the long offseason ahead, big, profound changes are needed – from each a financial and basketball perspective.

Is this organization content to sell nostalgia at a premium price and win barely enough to remain relevant for at the very least one game after the regular season? That’s what “Running It Back” would tell us.

Or do the Warriors care about winning titles, rattling it? If that's actually true, the perfect moves is likely to be probably the most extreme – to maneuver forward, this team may need to take a step back and even consider the once unthinkable.

Yes, every part is on the table for the Warriors this offseason.

And that's since the Warriors brought so little in 2023-24.

I had by chance gotten a black ink stain on it, and sure enough the ink was on the ring she was wearing. I told her it was my ring and she or he silently took it off and walked out the door.

We haven't spoken in per week and I don't know if I ever want to do this again. I feel betrayed and hurt and don't know the best way to proceed.

How could someone I considered a friend take something so personal from me without even acknowledging it? Should I confront her about it or is it higher to simply abandon the friendship?

I'm torn between wanting to get closure and never wanting to take care of someone who would do something like that.

Dear thief: Yes, with the goal of getting some type of closure, it’s best to reach out to your girlfriend to search out out what's occurring along with her.

Ask her what's occurring in her life. Tell her you must understand how she was capable of break into your house and steal from you. Ask them to elucidate. Be aware that there shall be no good excuse. The best you'll probably get is a way of what's occurring in her head.

People who steal in this manner are often in a desperate situation. It may very well be drugs or losing a job and even deep-seated jealousy of you.

Whatever it’s, you’ve to come back to terms with letting her go. Be sure to inform her that you concentrate on your friendship over due to her actions.

DEAR HARRIETTE: I moved to Florida to attend college. I met my boyfriend on the gym across the road where he works part time.

Before I became his girlfriend, I had made just a few friends on the gym. However, since we met, all these people act like they’re friends and never mine because he has known them for a very long time.

I'm pretty introverted and the gym is the one place I’m going after I don't have school. Whenever I'm sad and wish to have a drink, I can't help but miss my very own city with my very own friends.

I want some input here.

DEAR GYM BUDDY: It is smart that you just discover a friend with whom you spend your free time. The unlucky thing is that you just haven't yet explored other social opportunities. Now is the time to do this.

Additionally, proceed to nurture relationships with the people you want on the gym. This will need time. Don't feel lower than because you understand your friend higher. Be yourself and see what relationships grow.
