After the arrest of greater than 100 protesters at Columbia University last week, student protests over the Israel-Hamas war broke out on more campuses.

The students are demanding that universities divest from all corporations driving Israel's military efforts in Gaza – and in some cases from Israel itself.

Protests were organized by coalitions of student groups on many campuses. The groups operate largely independently, although students say they draw inspiration from colleagues at other universities.
